Talks

Community Organizations

Bringing Out the Best in Others

Why “thank you” isn’t enough.

How the words we use shape who people believe they are, and who they can become. Attendees learn the A.I.M. acknowledgment framework (Appreciation, Impact, Meaning) and leave having felt genuinely seen themselves.

Good for: Rotary, Kiwanis, chambers of commerce, community and civic organizations.

Businesses & Professional Groups

Build a Team That Cares Like You Do

How to develop employees who think, act, and care like owners.

Caring employees aren’t something you hire or hope for. They’re developed through clear expectations, specific acknowledgment, meaningful rewards, and real ownership: the four parts of C.A.R.E.

Good for: Business owners, chambers of commerce, entrepreneur groups, industry associations.

Why Your Employee Bonuses Aren’t Working

How to reward results, build ownership, and grow a more profitable business.

Why traditional bonuses rarely change behavior, what makes an incentive meaningful to employees, and how to build a self-funding plan that benefits both the team and the business.

Good for: Business owners, HR groups, leadership conferences, professional associations.

Say the Thing: The Conversation You Keep Not Having

Why avoiding hard conversations costs more than having them.

A practical way for leaders to handle uncomfortable conversations with both kindness and accountability, before small issues become big ones. Works well as a conference breakout or an interactive workshop.

Good for: Leadership conferences, managers and supervisors, team retreats.

Private workshops for client teams, including Employee Success Agreements, are available on request.

About Andrew

Andrew Lamppa speaking at a Rotary Club meeting in Hastings

Andrew Lamppa is a business coach and speaker who helps owners build teams that care, take ownership, and perform without constant oversight. He bought his previous business, owned it for 14 years and grew it to about 25 employees — surviving the hard early years and, at the time it was acquired in 2018, running at 4x his industry’s profitability and 8x his industry’s growth.

Built to Benefit grew out of that experience, and out of one belief: benefit is an outcome of good design, not good intentions. Andrew now coaches owners and leads workshops and the Leader’s Lab on the clarity, rhythms, and leadership tools that build companies benefiting the owner, the team, the client, and the community.

That ownership experience is what he brings to the room: he’s carried payroll, managed people, handled underperformance, and built the systems that finally let the business run without him. Every session is designed to be practical and honest, so owners and leaders leave knowing what to build next.

Written in the room

During “Bringing Out the Best in Others,” everyone writes a specific acknowledgment to someone in their working life. These are a few that people chose to share.
